Hundreds of students on two campuses started the 2021-22 fall term Monday, together for the first time as one school under one name: Bayside Martin Luther King Jr. Academy.
The new unified school, created after the Sausalito Marin City School District came under a 2019 order from the state to desegregate within five years, includes 250 kindergarten through fifth-grade students at the Nevada Street campus in Sausalito and about 160 sixth- through eighth-graders at the Phillips Drive campus in Marin City.
