Remembering Zion Greenwood through the Words of the BTG Team
We want to take the time to reprint the beautiful words our High School and College Team wrote about Zion Greenwood, one of our BTG students. He passed away in early April, a victim of gun violence.
Zion was a remarkable young man. He touched the lives of the team and he left an impression on us all. Zion exhibited strength, determination, and a maturity beyond his years. His unwavering confidence and the clarity with which he pursued his goals were qualities that set him apart. Zion’s intellect and ambition were evident in his academic pursuits. He was attending Santa Rosa Junior College with plans to transfer out of state. His aspirations were as lofty as they were attainable, and he approached each challenge with the attitude to complete a task and move on to the next.
Chinna shared, “He was honest, funny, and a great friend to his peers.” He radiated kindness and was a genuine friend to all who crossed his path. Dayrin recalled, “Zion was such a smart and genuine young adult. He had so much ahead of him. We will miss him.” Zion’s potential was limitless. His loss leaves a void in our community, and he will be deeply missed. Hajra also recalled, “I saw him grow from a child to a young man, filling in the cracks and crevices of his life through many different things. I always saw him being there for his peers.” Zion’s legacy is one of strength, maturity, and kindness. We will always remember him for his humor, his integrity, and his unwavering commitment to his future. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all those who had the honor of knowing him. If you are so moved to contribute to his family’s Go Fund Me, here is the information.
