Are tutors recruited and matched throughout the school year?

Student/Mentor-Tutor pairs in EP and HS programs are matched at the beginning of the school year, but student and volunteer recruitment and matching is on-going throughout the year.

At what age can I be a tutor?

Volunteers must be freshmen in high school or older.

What if I don't remember everything I learned in school?

Mentor-Tutors are never expected to know all of the answers, but should be comfortable being a role model in how to FIND the answers — either accessing online educational websites or asking a teacher.

How do I apply?

Volunteer applications are available on our website and must be completed before volunteering.

Do I need to get a background check?

Volunteers 18 years old and older need to complete a Live Scan background check before working with students.

Into which program will I be placed?

Volunteers are placed in specific programs based on age, availability, interest and skills.
